Dixie's shelter photo was so sad to see. She was cowered as low as she could go. Black dogs often get passed up because they are hard to see. Dixie kept her distance from us at first, curiously smelling the air in our direction trying to feel us out. It didn't take long for her to feel safe and comfortable at our facility.
After just a couple of days in our care, Dixie is wagging her tail happily, climbing into our laps, and learning how to relax. This is the best part for us to see them blossom and happy. Dixie is now a spunky and lovable sweetheart. She just wants to be petted and run zoomies with her best doggie friends here at the ranch. It's hard to remember how shy she was when we first met.
