When you refer a friend to board, train, or daycare with us, your dog will receive a free activity during their next stay! Our activities include dog walking, dog park time, pool time, personal play, and doggy socialization! We greatly appreciate our clients and your continued business. Without you, we cannot continue rescuing homeless dogs from the shelters. Thank you for your support!

Achoo! Tis the Season of Allergies!

Dogs get allergies just like humans! Itchy, watery eyes, red skin, drowsiness, and runny nose can be symptoms of a dog with allergies. After much needed rain in Southern California, grasses and wildflowers are exploding with colors, beauty, and pollen! If you notice any symptoms of allergies in your dog, speak with your vet about the best course of treatment. Many dogs are responsive to Benadryl to help relieve symptoms. Help reduce allergens for your dog by wiping their paws after they have been outside and washing any outdoor bedding or housing areas like dog houses down regulary.

Indie, a young and beautiful Rottweiler, is boarding at our facility and is currently enrolled in our 4-week obedience boot camp! During Indie's stay, she receives three training sessions a day and is learning good doggy manners. The training consists of teaching dogs not to jump on people, walking politely on leash, sitting, staying, coming when called, and lying down. She is also being crate-trained during her stay with us to provide her owners with helpful tools to ensure Indie's continued success when she goes home.

Board & Swim!

Now that the weather is warming up again, your dog can enjoy cooling off in our built-in swimming pool! "Pool Time" is an activity that we offer to clients that would like their dog to have some swimming time during their boarding stay. If your dog doesn't much care to swim, but still enjoy cooling down by splashing around, our pool is equipped with a large standing area where your dog can walk around in the water without being fully submerged.

Free Grooming!

When you board with New Leash On Life, you have the option of choosing boarding packages that come with free grooming! Depending on the length of your dog's stay, we offer packages that cater to your dog's activity preferences. At the end of your dog's stay, he/she can receive a bath, brush, cut, and blow dry! Below is a list of our packages:

Boarding Package 1: choose any 2 activities + free grooming!

Boarding Package 2: choose any 4 activities + free grooming!

Boarding Package 3: choose any 6 activities + free grooming!

To Crate or Not to Crate?

Here at NLOL, we often hear from dog owners that they are wary of using a crate for their dog because they feel that is cruel. And sometimes, we hear that some owners use crates as a form of punishing their dog. To help clarify the proper usage and purpose of crates, we provided some information that we hope will serve to educate those who may be uncertain whether a crate is right for their dog.

Have you noticed how beautiful our rescue dogs' photos are when browsing on the website? Thanks to That Spunky Monkey Pet Photography generously donating their time and services to our doggies, we have gorgeous photos that we feel capture the dogs' personalities while highlighting their unique physical traits. Research has shown that rescues and shelters that have great photos of their adoptable animals are more likely to attract potential adopters thus directly contributing to more animals finding forever homes!

adoptable dog - Cosmo

Cosmo gives wonderfully affectionate kisses, and is a very avid cuddler. He can be playful, but also enjoys curling up on the lap of someone he loves to nap the afternoon away. He does great with dogs his size or smaller, loves little kids, and seems to have no issues turning strangers he meets in the street into new friends!
